Mila Health is searching for a world-class Machine Learning Scientist to solve complex problems that will enable Mila to continue to reduce the communication burden in healthcare. About The Role
You will apply state of the art technology to dive into business and customer requirements, and partner with product and engineering teams, to define and create models that will ease the burden on clinicians and empower patients to achieve their treatment goals.
You will focus on designing, developing, and deploying modeling techniques in generative AI, deep learning, natural language processing. You will insert your recommendations and data-driven scientific judgement as part of the leadership team. You will collaborate cross-functionally and mentor other technical and science team members. You will be empowered to make contributions that create real-world impact.
Basic Qualifications
- PhD or Master’s degree in one of the following disciplines: Computer Science, Machine Learning, Computer Engineering.
- 10+ years of scientific research experience.
- 5+ years of direct industry experience in Machine Learning, Deep learning, and/or Natural Language Processing relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in Generative AI and NLP with experience in areas like language model evaluation.
- Fluency in Python and hands-on experience with frameworks such as PyTorch -Strong algorithm development experience.
- Depth and breadth in state-of-the-art machine learning technologies.
- Exposure to architectural patterns of large-scale software applications.
- Experience mentoring and coaching researchers and team members.
Preferred Qualifications
- Healthcare domain experience.
- Direct experience in generative AI and LLM research.
- Experience with one of the cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Knowledge of deep learning architectures and techniques (e.g., CNNs, RNNs, GANs) and their applications in computer vision, natural language processing, and other domains.
- Publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals in one of those areas (natural language processing/understanding, deep learning, machine learning, or speech processing).
- Track record of innovation in creating novel algorithms and advancing the state of the art.
